Ports in Pensacola and Panama City report robust business

Despite the economic and logistical challenges presented by the COVID-19 outbreak, Northwest Florida’s two maritime ports continue to post solid growth in both revenue and cargo tonnage.

The Port of Pensacola’s overall performance during the past 12 months includes a 110% increase in total tonnage and a 47% increase in the number of vessels docking at the city-owned facility.

Port Director Amy Miller also notes a 143% increase in the total number of wind turbine nacelles exported by the Pensacola-based GE Wind Energy plant.

A crowd cheered and took photos as two loggerhead sea turtles slowly made their way through the sand and into the Atlantic Ocean. Monday's turtle release marked the end of their rehabilitation at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach, Florida.
